The free tool is the Design Studio

The free t-shirt design tool is the Design Studio at /studio. It runs in the browser. You do not pay for the studio, and you do not pay to list what you make. You do need a seller account. From there you can put art on a T-shirt, a hoodie, an embroidered hoodie, a hat, or a sticker, check a mockup, and publish it on the marketplace.

Open a project or start blank. Templates are original layouts, and the words on them are placeholders you replace. Add text, shapes, your own image, or Sports clipart. The sports set is original silhouettes of equipment and generic fan gear. Recolor a piece after you select it. It is not a team logo, and the templates are not copied from other design sites. Upload only images you have the right to sell. Each image is checked, and the finished design is checked again before it can go live.

Set it up so the shirt prints cleanly

The dashed box is the print area. Keep type and the main art inside the blue safe area. The studio warns you when a photo would print soft. Shirts and hoodies can use a front and a back. Hats and the embroidered hoodie are stitched, not printed. Studio help at /studio/help covers saves, mockups, and later edits. When the art is ready, pick colors and set a price at or above the minimum, so you still earn at least $0.01 after production, the fee, and processing.

Sell it with no upfront cost

Publishing does not send a production invoice. Printing and shipping are handled when an order is fulfilled, to the United States and Japan. You do not hold inventory. You keep 85% of the item price. The platform fee is 15% of that price, and it is charged only after the sale is fulfilled. Production cost, card or PayPal processing, and the print partner’s sales tax also come out of the price. Use the studio estimate rather than assuming the full 85% is profit. Earnings are sent about 14 days after the order ships. Accounts created on or before November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET pay a 0% platform fee on orders in their first 30 days. After that, the fee is 15%. Only the platform fee is waived.

Every new seller’s first design gets featured on our homepage and on X. The homepage shows first designs from sellers who joined in the last 30 days. If another designer joins with your link — /sell?ref= and your username — and their first sale is fulfilled, $10 is added to your payout once, about 14 days after that ship date. Your own link and the same email do not qualify. A first sale canceled or refunded before the credit is paid does not pay the $10. The fee is not taken on the bonus.

What the tool will not clear

The studio is a merch editor, not a license. Original fan designs are what you can publish: your city, a saying, your drawing, generic sports shapes. Official team, league, or school logos, and a player’s name or likeness, are out unless you have rights. A city reference is fine. A copied mark is not.
